APPLICATIONS The MAC Muffler is a high performance muffler with high sound attenuation characteristics covering a very broad band and does not require tuning of any kind. Due to the cyclonic flow of gases through the inner and outer lines of the muffler, the MAC Muffler also functions as a spark arrestor.

SOUND ATTENUATION The MAC Muffler operates on a patented wave cancelling principle and contains no baffles or packing to restrict gas flow. Sound waves added together tend to cancel each other when the troughs of one wave coincide with the peaks of the other wave. Noise reduction on the order of 22 to 24 dBA can be expected.

SIZE AND WEIGHT REDUCTION The MAC Muffler is approximately one-third the size of a conventional reactive silencer, and hence is ideal for applications where space is minimal. The small size and reduced weight offers great flexibility and ease of installation on welding machines and other small equipment and machines. The MAC "Whisper Quiet" muffler can be mounted under the hood and therefore has little stress on the manifold.

LOW BACK PRESSURE The unique wave cancelliing principle of the MAC Muffler, and the absence of resonant chambers and baffles create a relatively unrestricted path for the gas flow - resulting in minimal back pressure. Low back pressure saves fuel dollars! Less than 10 ins. water gauge (0.75 ins. Mercury). These special features often permit a small MAC Muffler to replace a conventional large reactive muffler.

LONG LIFE The spinning action of gases in the patented Mac and Mark Mufflers keeps moisture and contaminates from being trapped inside the muffler. This extends the life of the muffler by many years. Long life saves replacement dollars!
